Silva X-Trail – the headlamp with intelligent light for serious outdoor activities honoured with ispo Outdoor Award 2010.

The award winning Silva X-Trail is a technical headlamp for serious sports like trail running, mountain biking, cross country skiing and adventure racing. This headlamp features the Silva Intelligent Light® technology, which combines a strong, focused distance light with a wide angle flood light for close vision. An extra wide, anti-slip treated headband ensures that the headlamp stays comfortably in place on uneven terrain.

The jury’s motivation reads: “Owing to lots of experience in the development and manufacture of headlamps, Silva manages to sweep the prize with its striking X-Trail headlamp. This sophisticated, yet handy and lightweight gadget incorporates several smart technical features that improve one’s safety margin and comfort when left out in the dark.”

The Silva X-Trail is a modular headlamp that can be moved between the headband, the helmet attachment and the bike handle bar attachment which are all included. One high power LED reaching 75 meters, and two wide beam performance LEDs for the floodlight close to you provide a light image suitable for all high speed applications. With a maximum brightness of 145 lumens and the choice between five different light modes you can be sure to find the appropriate light for each activity. The water resistance level is IPX6, so not even heavy rain will ruin your planned activities.

Silva X-Trail has an external battery compartment for four AA-batteries, which can be carried on your waist or in a pocket making the head unit light and easy to wear. The weight on the head is only 80 grams. Carrying the external battery compartment inside a jacket will make the batteries last longer in cold conditions. This makes Silva X-Trail suitable for winter endurance sports like cross country skiing.

Silva X-Trail Plus is designed for the frequent user and has an external rechargeable Li-Ion-battery. The battery indicator on both models lets you know how much exercise time you have left to get back home.
