Now that the days are getting longer there are many people who want to do more exercise, but at the same time there just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day. You’re busy at work, at school, friends want to see you and it’s important to have time with your family. How will you find time for exercise?

How to find time for exerciseOne thing is clear – it is more than likely that all the hours of the day are filled with plenty of activities. Most people don’t even have a few hours a week that are free. Nor is it likely that you’ll be able to find any “new” time in your diary, so instead you have to prioritise. One way of doing this is to exercise more in your everyday life. Move about as often as you can and become an activity hunter. Park the car at the far end of the car park, fetch a glass of water for your friend when you eat out, take the stairs instead of the escalator and walk around the block while you’re waiting for the bus. Each step has a positive effect on your body and your health, as well as for your weight. A pedometer is the perfect tool; you can immediately see how close you are to the recommended 10,000 steps per day.
Another option is to cut back on a current activity. Perhaps you could watch less television, reduce your time in front of the computer or make shorter phone calls? This creates free time that you can use for planned exercise. Or why not combine both methods?
