Personal Top 10
Here you can find a list of the ten days when you have taken most steps since you started using Silva Connect, in falling order.
Personal Total
Here a summary of your personal results is shown, including steps, total distance, number of calories and the total time that you have walked so far.
Performance monitor
When you choose a day, week, month or year you get an overview of the chosen time span. You also get two different bars that display, in percent, how well you are performing compared to your defined goals. If you haven’t defined any daily personal goals the bars will be empty. For example, if you have set the goals at 10.000 steps or 60 minutes a day and are currently keeping an average of 7.500 steps or 45 minutes a day, the bars will display 75%.
Summary
On the same page as you find your Performance Monitor you also find a Summary. In the Summary field you can see your total performance so far and your daily average for steps, distance, calories and time.
Walk the World
The page, Walk the World, shows a top list including all users that have chosen to display their data by checking the Public box under My Profile. The list displays the alias of the top walkers in the world based on number of steps, in falling order. If you, for example, have walked the second highest number of steps your alias will be displayed as number two in the list. If you do not want to be included in the list, just check the box marked Private under My Profile and your data will not be visible to other users of silvaconnect.com. Under Walk the World you can also see the total number of steps registered by all silvaconnect.com users and compare that to how many laps around the world this has resulted in. You can also use the search function to locate other users from different countries, see how your friends are doing by searching their alias or just check different time spans to see who has been the best walker during the chosen time span.
Challenges
On the page Challenge you find the challenges that you have accepted, been invited to and have participated in. You can also create your own challenges and invite your friends, or colleagues to give them the extra push they need to start walking! You can do this by simply choosing Create Challenge and follow these steps:
- 1. The first thing you have to do is to come up with a name for the challenge and what the target should be; for example Silva10K with a goal to walk at least 10.000 steps per day. You can also choose to leave a message to the invited participants under Messages to give them an extra push in the right direction! Under Challenge types you decide whether you want the challenge to be an individual challenge (every person is trying to reach the goal by him- or herself) or a team based one (participants are divided into teams to reach the defined goal together). When this is done you enter a start and a finish date for the competition and proceed by pressing Next.
- 2. Write the names for the teams if you have chosen Team challenge. If you have chosen Individual challenge this step will not come up.
- 3. In step three the time has come to invite the participants to your challenge. You can do this by typing an alias or an e-mail address. If the person is not registered at silvaconnect.com you can only enter an e-mail address. An invitation will be sent to him/her with instructions on how to join your challenge by creating a silvaconnect.com account.
- 4. Step four shows a summary of the information you have entered so that you can check that everything is correct and give you a chance to correct any errors. You can also choose to invite more members to the challenge. To make any adjustments, press Back to go to the page you want. When you feel that you are done, simply press Send Invitations and the invitations will go out to the people that you have chosen.
Export Data
On the page Export data you can make a printable version of a chosen time period. You can choose to print the data to a CSV file (Comma Separated Value) or a printable list. To get the file, choose a time period, for example the days between February 2 and midsummer 2008, and then click Export to CSV or the Print Data button. The CSV file format is used to export your data to be used in, for example, an Excel sheet.
My Profile
Under My Profile you can make changes to your personal settings, for example password, e-mail address or country. You can also set and change your personal goals. If you want to set a new personal goal without creating a challenge you can do this under Settings. Here you can set target values for steps, distance, calories and/or time. When you set a target value, a horizontal line will appear in the bar chart on the start page when you log in so that you can easily see your performance compared to your set target. If you, for example, choose to set your target value at 10.000 steps per day, a white line will appear at the 10.000 step mark when you look at the Steps page under the page My Performance. The same thing will happen if you set target values for distance, calories or time but the line will appear under their respective page. Under My Profile you can also choose if you want your data to be displayed in the Walk the World top list. If you do, just check the box Public and if you do not want your data to be shown, check the box Private. You can also reset all the values that you have uploaded to silvaconnect.com by clicking Reset All Uploaded Data, this will delete all the data that has been added to your account. However, it will not reset your ex3 connect pedometer. All the saved steps will remain in the ex3 connect unless you also choose to reset the unit (see the ex3 Connect manual on how to do this).
