Silva Sweden AB will be sponsoring the 2009 edition of adventure race Explore Sweden Monster. This year’s race, the fifth of its kind, will take racers from the coastal city of Sundsvall on a great journey through the middle of Sweden en route to the mountains at the Norwegian border and back again. The teams will be racing at the peak of Sweden's fantastic and light-filled summer period, when the sun circles high in the sky, dips below the horizon for a couple of hours, and then rises again.

Explore Sweden Monster starts on July 3rd and goes on for five-six days and nights. The race course will cover 1,000 km and teams will travel through vast forests, on rivers and lakes, and in the high alpine mountains in some of the most beautiful parts of Sweden. Good navigation is critical for the teams, using maps, compasses and a roadbook for the race course. The race will include trekking, orienteering, mountaineering, kayaking, hydrospeed, rafting, zip-lines, mountain biking, inlines, downhill biking and spectacular repellings

Two of the participating teams are as well sponsored by Silva; last year’s winners Team Lundhags from Sweden and Norwegian team Merrell Haglöfs Multimania are using Silva equipment during Explore Sweden.
